The literary journal Poet
Poet (ISSN 3119-2270) is a Nordic-Bosnian-Herzegovinian literary journal founded on the initiative of Milena Rudež, based on the idea behind the Danish-Bosnian literary journal Poet, which was published in Copenhagen from 2000 to 2002. The new journal further develops this idea in a Nordic and multilingual context.
The journal’s purpose is to promote new artistic collaborations, first and foremost within poetry, with a particular focus on contemporary writers from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Poet is conceived as a literary platform for publishing literary works both in their original languages and in translation. The texts are published in one of the Nordic languages together with a translation into Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian, and vice versa, as well as in English.
The journal is published both digitally and in print. It publishes contemporary poetry and short prose from the Nordic countries and Bosnia and Herzegovina by writers from different generations – from established names to new literary voices. In addition, it includes news, essays and articles that promote literary collaboration, translation and cultural networking.
Editorial team
The editorial team was formed at the beginning of 2026. The editor-in-chief is the poet and translator Milena Rudež (Denmark), the responsible publisher is the publisher and translator Haris Tucaković (Sweden), and the editors are the writer and literary critic Sead Husić (Bosnia and Herzegovina), the Slavic studies scholar and translator Pontus Lindgren-Ciampi (Sweden), the writer and illustrator Lidija Pavlović-Grgić (Ireland), and the translator and representative of Danish PEN and the Nordic PEN Language Network Jørgen Christian Wind Nielsen (Denmark).

Wistifonden – the Folmer Wisti Foundation for International Understanding was established by the married couple Folmer Wisti (1908–2000) and Helle Wisti (1923–2015). From 1974 onwards, they financed the foundation with their own funds and designated it as the universal heir to their estate.
The purpose of the foundation was to provide independent support for the activities specified in its statutes, which at the same time constitute an important part of the mission of the Danish Cultural Institute. The Institute was founded in 1940 on the initiative of Folmer Wisti (under the name Det Danske Selskab until 1989), and he served as its secretary-general until 1983.
